FED:PM talks finance with World Bank president
CANBERRA, Aug 16 AAP - Prime Minister Julia Gillard and World Bank president Robert
Zoellick discussed global finances and Australian foreign aid during a meeting in Canberra
on Monday.
Food and agricultural development, gender equality, and job security were also raised,
a spokeswoman said in a statement.
Mr Zoellick, who is in the country this week for the APEC finance ministers' meeting,
thanked Australia for "the role it's playing" in the Pacific, having promised to up its
aid funding through the World Bank.
The pair also discussed climate change and how other countries are tackling it.
They will next meet at the G20 in France in November.
