Fed: Swan releases updated survey showing GST price hikes
CANBERRA, Feb 24 AAP - The federal opposition today released an updated GST price survey
showing wide-ranging increases for grocery items since the tax was introduced.
Federal Labor MP Wayne Swan said he would take the findings to the Australian Competition
and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and the government, which predicted post-GST price falls.
Women were now paying 46 cents more for tampons, the survey showed.
Tuna had risen by 14 per cent, or 54 cents, frozen pizza by 10.3 per cent, or 41 cents,
