SA: Government and opposition welcome jobless fall in SA

Unemployment in South Australia has fallen to a nine-year low.

Statistics show the jobless rate fell last month from 8.1 to 8.0 per cent, the lowest since
July 1990.

Youth unemployment dropped from 31.9 per cent to 24.3 per cent, the lowest since June 1991.

State Employment Minister MARK BRINDAL says the figures show the state government has got
its economic policy right.

Opposition employment spokesman MICHAEL WRIGHT says Labor welcomes the fall in unemployment
but there's no room for complacency.
