Oly: Lineup of Olympic Live site entertainment

ENTERTAINMENT AT OLYMPIC LIVE SITES DURING THE GAMES



Martin Place, Sydney central business district

Plaza named after Irish immigrant James Martin, premier of New South Wales in the 1840s
and later the state's chief justice.

Entertainment includes:

- Bachelor Girl, Ed Kuepper, Ganggajang, Grace Knight, Jimmy Little, Mental as Anything,
Leonardo's Bride, Renee Geyer, the Whitlams, Vika and Linda.



The Domain

Part of Sydney's Royal Botanic Gardens, the grassy expanse was a site of public oratory
in the early 1900s before becoming the premier site of outdoor entertainment in Sydney.

Entertainment includes:

- Savage Garden, Bananas in Pyjamas, Christine Anu, Gina Jeffreys, Iva Davies, Killing
Heidi, Lee Kernaghan, Neil Finn, Mark Seymour, Paul Kelly, the Sydney Symphony and Vanessa
Amorosi.



Circular Quay, Alfred Street

The focus of European settlement in Australia, Circular Quay began as a mooring for
ships before its distinctive ferry wharves were added at the turn of last century.

Entertainment includes:

- a circus theme with performances by Theatre Physical, Extra Bimbo, Legs Akimbo,
Legs on the wall, Rock`n'Roll circus, Aerialart and the Amazing Grovers.



Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour

Named after Governor Ralph Darling, the area was used as a port until the 1980s when
it was redeveloped into a convention, tourist and entertainment area. It is also the site
of six Olympic events.

Entertainment includes:

- a world music theme with Batacuda, Marcia Hines, Yothu Yindi, the Bushwhackers, Brazilian
Fantasy, Latin Flavours, Sukulu and the Fabulous Singlettes.



Belmore Park, Central

Next to Sydney Central railway station, Belmore Park used to contain police barracks
in the 1800s before becoming a dedicated park.

Entertainment includes:

- a youth music theme in conjunction with radio station Triple J with Big Heavy Stuff,
Gerling, Golden Rough, Kneivel, Margaret Urlich, Nitocris, Skulker, Stella One Eleven,
Vince Jones and Oblivia.



Pyrmont Bay Park, Pyrmont

Named after a mineral springs in Germany, Pyrmont is on a peninsula just west of the
city, and has been transformed from a shipping warehouse district to a residential area
and includes the Star City casino.

Entertainment includes:

- theme of performance art with Icarus, Snuff Puppets, Stalker and Strange Fruit.
