Vic: Police name victim of rockclimbing accident
Police have released the name of the Queensland man who died in a rockclimbing accidentin Western Victoria during the Easter long weekend.
He was CHRISTOPHER J MANN from the Gold Coast suburb of Burleigh.
The 34-year-old died after falling down a rock face at the popular rock-climbing areaof Mount Arapiles, near Horsham, at about 5pm yesterday.
A spokeswoman from local tour group Arapiles Climbing Guides says the man was believedto be tackling a climb known as Beautiful Possibilities.
Horsham SES controller JASON WOODHEART says Mr MANN was dead by the time rescue crewsarrived last night.
His body was recovered from the base of the 20-metre climb.
